Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to support a variety of core finance functions, with a strong emphasis on inventory tracking, month-end close activities, and general ledger maintenance. This temp to hire position is onsite in San Jose and supports our cutting edge manufacturing client. This role collaborates across departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, assists with audits, and supports ongoing process improvements in the ERP environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with supply chain and warehouse teams to monitor inventory activity and ensure accurate reconciliation.
Support the financial month-end close by assisting with:
Inventory valuation and cost tracking
Fixed asset reporting
Intercompany accounting and reconciliations
Accounts receivable and accounts payable reviews
Preparation of internal financial statements and reports
Manage and maintain general ledger schedules, including:
Prepaid and lease expense tracking
Revenue accruals for services
Filing sales tax returns
Contributing to tax calculations and compliance reporting
Assist in preparing documentation and schedules for internal controls reviews, external financial audits, and income tax filings, including transfer pricing compliance.
Generate ad-hoc reports and support financial planning during the budgeting process.
Recommend and implement improvements to ERP-based workflows to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Provide departmental support on special projects and act as a back-up for other roles when needed.
Skills & Knowledge:
Solid understanding of accounting standards and principles, with hands-on experience in ERP systems (experience with Oracle is advantageous).
Strong analytical and research skills to evaluate financial data.
Proven ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement effective solutions.
Excellent time management, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; CPA is a plus but not mandatory.
5+ years of relevant professional experience in accounting or finance roles.
Dependable with a strong sense of responsibility and punctuality.
